JORDANA CARMEL

What does joy feel like to you? When was the last time you felt joy?

It is my passion to help women find ways to rebalance their schedule to fill their own cups with self-care. As the saying goes, it is impossible to fill from an empty cup. It’s all about creating more energy and passion to enjoy your life.

Drawing on my expertise and established research, we will create a personalized program for you. The wisest, most gentle and healthy steps we can take for ourselves begins with really committing to self-care.

Integrative Coaching
As an integrative life coach, I am passionate about helping people restore balance to their overly busy/ stressful lives and transition from "surviving" into "thriving." With 20+ years of experience in massage and yoga I have learned what is most important to focus on for success.

We will focus on five main pillars of health which are:
◦ Stress Management/Building Resilience
◦ Nutrition/Wellness
◦ Movement
◦ Spirituality/Community
◦ Sleep

Yoga
Yoga is also a self-directed tool that you can take anywhere with you to use in sustaining inner peace regardless of outer chaos. I view yoga as a way of life and not simply as physical exercise. It is a profound and gentle way to reduce cortisol (stress hormone) and to support the body in unwinding and healing deeply held patterns of stress and tension. It is also one of the few modalities in the West that supports the body in producing oxytocin (the "feel good" hormone)! I apply yoga teachings to all aspects of my own life and, naturally, to my coaching. I have been a registered yoga teacher since 2001 and am also a Certified iRest® Yoga Nidra Teacher.

Massage Therapy
Massage is another fabulous tool for managing stress and pain. Massage has numerous benefits which include pain management, enhanced athletic performance, stress reduction, and promoting an overall sense of well-being. It works amazingly well at jump starting your relaxation and healing which you may then sustain with a regular yoga practice (including breathing techniques) to fit into your own schedule to sustain your newfound skills! I have been a licensed massage therapist since 1997. Over the years, I have studied many modalities and use them in designing a massage session to meet your specific needs.

If you are curious about how integrative life coaching can help you, let’s talk. Schedule a 30-minute sample coaching session with me today. I would love to partner with you on this journey!

About Jordana

What is my typical process for working with a new client?
New clients typically begin the process by scheduling a 30-minute Discovery Session. My goal is to create a supportive environment enabling you to bring your life into balance. Using co-active life coaching methods we work together to discover what re-ignites your joy for living! “Bookmark" where they are now, listen to where they want to be (goals) and then together set up a roadmap to get there (process, and progress checks), and have fun along the way! Helping women to re-establish and cultivate their mind/body connection in service of living a more fulfilling life.

What credentials do I have for my specialty/specialties?
I am a certified integrative lifestyle and certified health coach. I have completed the Co-Active Life Coach Training by CTI (Co-Active Training Institute); and am a Holistic Health Coach, certified by Purchase College, State University of New York.

I have been trained in more than one hundred dietary theories and studied a variety of practical lifestyle coaching methods. My teachers have included Dr. Andrew Weil, Director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine; Dr. Deepak Chopra, leader in the field of mind-body medicine; Dr. David Katz, Director of Yale University’s Prevention Research Center; Dr. Walter Willett, Chair of Nutrition at Harvard University; Geneen Roth, bestselling author and expert on emotional eating; and many other leading researchers and nutrition authorities.

In addition to lifestyle coaching, I am an experienced registered yoga teacher (over 5000 hours taught), yoga therapist (both with private clients and formerly at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center), and licensed massage therapist (1997). I have been a yoga teacher and guest speaker at Holy Cross Hospital since 2001.

My certifications include:
◦ Certified 21-Day Sugar Detox Coach
◦ Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT500)
◦ Certified iRest® Yoga Nidra Teacher
◦ Licensed Massage Therapist
◦ Health Coaching Certificate from SUNY Purchase (2013)
◦ Completed CTI Training for Co-Active Coaching (2015)
◦ Licensed Massage Therapist (1996)
◦ Certified Yoga Teacher (2001), public speaking, workshops and classes for Holy Cross Hospital since 2001

What types of patients have I worked with?
I have always worked with a diverse range of clients, with the common goal of wanting to wake up energized and inspired. They range in age and physical ability level.

Women, mostly 40+ who are looking to shift their relationship with stress, build a balanced and lasting healthy lifestyle, which includes nutrient dense foods, better sleep, movement, and time for joy!
